ARRESTSAugusta

Jan. 16: A mother and daughter from Augusta were arrested during a traffic stop on First Avenue. Kathy Tupper, 50, and her daughter, 22-year-old Samantha Tupper, were both arrested on charges of unlawful possession of scheduled drugs and sale and use of drug paraphernalia. Kathy Tupper also was arrested on a warrant and a charge of violating conditions of release. Both were found guilty Jan. 17 in Augusta District Court. Kathy Tupper was found convicted of unlawful possession of scheduled drugs and violating conditions of release. She was sentenced to 10 days in jail and fined $400. Samantha Tupper convicted of possession of hypodermic apparatuses and falsifying physical evidence. She was sentenced to 24 hours in jail and fined $200.

Belgrade

Jan. 16: Leon Burgess, 27, was arrested and charged with violating conditions of release after police reportedly discovered marijuana and alcohol in his vehicle during a traffic stop on Route 135.
