I read articles in the Morning Sentinel in which some people were complaining they could no longer get free sand from the town where they lived. Somehow these people think they are entitled to free sand from the town, stating that the excise tax they paid to the town was used, in part, to purchase sand for the town.
Why stop there? Using this rationale, then the residents should be entitled to free gasoline, diesel fuel and, to push the envelop further, should be able to use town equipment and town vehicles. Ridiculous!
For about $6 one can buy 80 pounds of sand from any hardware store. This is what I do.
