SANFORD — Police are looking for the person who robbed a Sanford convenience store over the weekend and fired a gunshot at a pursuing employee.
Police say a masked man entered the High Street store at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday. He showed a gun and made off with some cash.
The store clerk followed the suspect across High Street to the intersection of Harvard Street where the thief turned and fired at the clerk. The worker was not hurt.
The suspect was last seen entering a vehicle and leaving the area.
Police are asking the public to contact them if they have information about the robbery.
