A secretary at Westbrook’s Canal Elementary School was surprised Monday with a statewide honor.

The Maine Principals’ Association named June Lentz the 2014 Secretary of the Year.

Lentz was nominated by Kathryn Hersom, the former principal of Canal school and now the district coordinator for No Child Left Behind.
