A page B5 article in the Jan. 15 newspaper discloses that a legislative committee advanced a measure to grant the state’s judges a pay raise. The raise will increase judges’ pay, by steps, from a bottom of the scale of $115,346 to a high of $157,475.

The Legislature removed from all state retirees the Cost Of Living Adjustment, which had been in effect for about 37 years. It was a part of retirement calculations made by state employees.
