Winthrop, Readfield power briefly out
More than 1,000 people were briefly without power Tuesday morning because of a tripped circuit.
Central Maine Power spokeswoman Gail Rice said the outage impacted 1,051 customers in Winthrop and Readfield. According to the company’s online notification service, the outages concentrated from Main Street into East Winthrop and included Stanley Road, Route 135, Metcalf Road, U.S. Route 202 and Narrows Pond Road.
Rice said the outage was caused by a tripped circuit at 7:56 a.m. The circuit was reset and power restored at 8:39 a.m.
