BANGOR — A jury in Bangor has convicted an Enfield man of sexually assaulting a child more than 25 years ago.
Seventy-one-year-old Dean Knights was convicted Wednesday of four counts of gross sexual assault against a child from 1986 through 1987.
WZON-AM says the victim, now in her 30s, testified how she would escape to Knights’ house when her parents fought. She says Knights, her neighbor, touched her while she sat on his lap.
Knights denied the allegations, saying “never that I recall” in response to questions from prosecutors.
Knights, who’s being held without bail pending sentencing, is already on the sex offender registry. The jury was never made aware of his criminal past.
