Why is everyone surprised at the Time Warner/Comcast merge? Correct me if I’m wrong, but back when Adelphia sold out some of its business to Time Warner and the rest to Comcast, it was said then it was only temporary and Comcast eventually would take over the Adelphia/Time Warner collection.
Yes, I’m sure prices will go up, but we only have our own towns to blame. Each town has its own agreement with the cable company that it would be the only cable service in that town, and the town would get kickbacks. If the towns would allow competition for cable companies, then we would see prices finally go down.
