Church burglary, theft probed in Skowhegan

SKOWHEGAN — Police are investigating a burglary and theft of cash donations reported before Sunday services at Centenary United Methodist Church on Dr. Mann Road.

Church pastor the Rev. Richard Dorian arrived about 8 a.m. Sunday to find the door of his office had been kicked in, Police Chief Ted Blais said. Detective Josh King investigated the report and found $25 in donation money and the basket it was in had been stolen.

Blais said no arrests have been made and there are no suspects yet.

IN ALBION, Saturday at 11:11 p.m., underage drinking was reported on Quimby Road.

IN ANSON, Sunday at 12:17 p.m., fire crews put out a chimney fire on River Road.

Monday at 3:30 a.m., a 14-year-old was arrested on a probation hold, at Thayer Center for Health on North Street.

Arrests

IN CLINTON, Sunday at 5:58 p.m., James B. Ramsdell Turner, 26, of 16 Dickey Road, Canaan, was arrested on a warrant, on Hill Road.

IN OAKLAND, Sunday at 3:27 p.m., Justin Wayne Lancaster, 34, of 137 High St., was arrested on a warrant.

IN SOMERSET COUNTY, Sunday at 2 p.m., Cameron Edward Nurmi, 19, of Norridgewock, was arrested on charges of domestic violence assault, domestic violence terrorizing and on a warrant for failure to appear.

8:13 p.m., Justin Barry Adams, 20, of Madison, was arrested on a probation hold and domestic violence assault, with priors.
