I want to thank the residents of Pittston for entrusting me with making town decisions for the last nine months. I took their trust seriously and I hope they believe I did a good job for them while serving on the Select Board.

I appreciate everyone’s encouraging words and offers of assistance as we made our way through the first few months together. Governing anywhere is a collaborative and cooperative effort.

Town meeting was a great exchange of ideas. Democracy is all about standing up for what we believe is right and for the items we believe our tax dollars should be spent on. It’s nice to have people ask questions and disagree, while maintaining their manners. In a free exchange of ideas, we should not denigrate another. We all bring our passions, and we can disagree and still be neighborly. Town meeting is for disagreeing and coming to consensus about ideas. Let’s not speak ill of each other next year.

Pittston is a wonderful town with truly terrific and caring people populating it.
