AUGUSTA — The Cushnoc Senior Group of Augusta invites local senior residents to attend their meetings on Mondays in the hall beneath St. Augustine Church on Washington Street.
Doors open at 10:30 a.m. for social time, cards, cribbage and games. Lunch at the snack kitchen typically includes hot dogs, chips, desserts, coffee and drinks.
A short business meeting is held at 1 p.m. to discuss events that are offered during the month. Activities include club luncheons, bingo, silent auctions, scholarships, weekly prize drawings, trips to the casinos and various day and overnight trips for members. Annual dues are $10.
Space is still available on a day trip to the Sugar Shack in Lac Megantic set for Thursday, April 10. The trip includes a meal, a visit to the site of the train wreck, and a visit to a cheese factory and mall.
