I am concerned about the minimum wage. In most circumstances, it means that an employer must pay no less than a certain amount per hour for labor received. It doesn’t mean that employer can’t pay more.

Maine’s minimum wage is listed as $7.50 and the federal minimum as $7.25. Wouldn’t it be great if everyone who needed good help paid more than minimum wage when they could afford it ? Many have found that paying more than minimum wage pays off because workers are more loyal and invested their jobs. More employers should try it.

Next time people are in the grocery store, they should notice how little $7.50 buys. Raising the minimum wage by laww or choosing to do so ourselves would really help many deserving, hard working people.
