The Healthy Community Coalition of Greater Franklin County is collaborating with area organizations to offer after school programs to get kids physically active. The programs provide a structured opportunity for kids to learn a new skill and get healthy at the same time. Many programs are also working with the 5210 Let’s Go! program to promote healthy messages during the activities.

The following events are set:

• Rangeley FitKidz, 2:30-4 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays, at Rangeley Fitness Center. Registrations are ongoing through June 2. Free for students in grades 5-12. This includes a free gym membership for the duration of the program. For more information, call at 864-3055.

• Let’s Go Afterschool, 2:30-4:30 p.m., Mondays and Tuesdays, at Stratton School. Registrations are ongoing through May 27. Cost is $1 per day. Program is for students in grades 1-4. For more information, call Millie Howard at 491-4988.

• Strong Spring Walking Program, 2:30-4 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays, at Strong School, during May. For more information, call Joy York 491-5811.

• UMF Spring Conditioning Program, 2:30-4 p.m., Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, through May 2, at UMF Fitness & Recreation Center There is no cost for the program for middle school students. For more information, call the UMF Fitness & Recreation Center at 778-7505.

Summer Programs will also be offered at Strong Elementary and Rangeley Fitness Center. Details coming soon.
