Wilton company Dexter Supply has been bought by Belgrade’s Hammond Lumber Co., Hammond officials announced in a news release Tuesday.
Hammond officials said that they hope to retain the Dexter Supply employees, many of whom have worked for the business all their working lives, according to the release. The business was owned by Kelly and Jennifer Dexeter.
“These are very knowledge people,” said Hammond Lumber vice-president Mike Hammond in the release, “and we looking forward to welcoming them into our company.”
Dexter Supply, on U.S. Route 2, will “run in tandem with Hammond Lumber’s Farmington location, and its manager, Al Feather, will oversee both operations,” the release said.
The company will become Hammond’s 13th store.
