NEWPORT — Sophomore pitcher Libby Dunivan threw a no-hitter in her first start of the season as Nokomis defeated Waterville, 11-1, in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B softball action Wednesday afternoon.

Dunivan struck out 10 and walked three in her first career no-hitter. She also singled and doubled.

Becky Orcutt added a home run for Nokomis (4-0). The Warriors broke the game open by scoring nine runs in the first two innings.

Waterville is 0-3.

MADISON 7, HALL-DALE 1: Madison pitcher Emily McKenney fired a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts as the hosts defeated Hall-Dale in Madison.

Aly LeBlanc drove in three runs with a triple and a single for Madison (3-0). Savanna Kandiko also had two hits. McKenney walked three times and was hit by a pitch.

Kayla Johnson doubled and Morgan Rush singled for Hall-Dale (2-2).

WINSLOW 24, MT. VIEW 3, 6 innings: Hillary Libby tossed a three-hitter with 15 strikeouts as the Black Raiders defeated the Mustangs in Thorndike.

Jenna Petrovic and Hayley Pottle each had three hits for Winslow (2-2). Brooke Haskell added two hits.

For Mt. View (0-4), Kersey Boulay and Krysta Porter each singled.

CARRABEC 22, ST. DOMINIC 4, 5 innings: Macy Welch had four hits, including a home run and a triple, and Libby Chestnut drove in three runs to lead the Cobras to the MVC win in Auburn.

Baylee Atwood also had four hits and belted a three-run home run for the Cobras (2-0). Courtney Lancaster and Brooklynne Lewis each had two singles and two RBIs.

The Saints just dropped to 0-3.

OXFORD HILLS 12, MT. BLUE 3: Shannon Fillebrown had two singles and two doubles as the Vikings beat the Cougars in Farmington.

Cody Akers and Anna Winslow each added two singles for Oxford Hills (2-1).

Fiona Lefresne and Addie Brinkman had two hits apiece for Mt. Blue (1-3).

MONMOUTH 11, MT. ABRAM 2: Becky Bryant struck out 13 batters and Kylie Kemp drove in four to lead the Mustangs to the Mountain Valley Conference win in Monmouth. Bryant walked three while Kemp belted a two-run double and a two-run single. Paxtojn Lessard added a pair of base hits for Monmouth (1-1). Katie Jordan struck nine for Mt. Abram (0-1).

EDWARD LITTLE 3, LAWRENCE 1: The Red Eddies scored two runs in the first and another in the second, and then held on to win the KVAC A game in Auburn. Molly Murray went the distance for EL (1-2), allowing just three hits.

Julia Lawrence pitched the complete game for the Bulldogs (2-1). She allowed just five hits.

OCEANSIDE 11, ERSKINE 10: The fell a run short in the final inning in falling to the Mariners in a KVAC Class B game in South China. Amber Grady doubled a run home in the seventh but a second run was gunned down on the same play from center field. Brianna Dugan led the winners with four singles and a double while Trittany Penn and Ari Curtis each singled twice. Winning pitcher Paige Tyler struck out nine and belted a two-run homer in the fifth. Grady led Erskine (0-3) with a single and double. Oceasnide is 2-1.

BANGOR 8, MT. BLUE 1: Bangor banged out 10 hits — all singles — and Emily Gilmore pitched a complete game to lead the Rams to the KVAC A win in Bangor on Tuesday.

Kylie Cunningham led the way with two singles for Bangor (3-0).

Mt. Blue dropped to 1-2.

WINSLOW 6, MT. VIEW 2: Ben Smith went 2 for 4 with two RBIs andRyan Dubois drove in a pair to lead the Raiders in Thorndike.

Trevor Lovely went 2 for 4 with an RBI for the Raiders (3-1).

David Clark went 2 for 3 to lead Mt. View (1-3).

HALL-DALE 11, MADISON 1: Winning pitcher Ryan Sinclair had two singles and three RBIs and Brian Allen had a double and two RBIs to lead the Bulldogs to the MVC win at Carrabec High School.

Sinclair pitched the complete game, allowing just two hits.

Madison dropped to 0-3.

WATERVILLE 2, NOKOMIS 1: AJ Godin pitched a complete game and Cam Gardiner had two doubles to lead the Panthers to the KVAC B victory in Newport. Alan Wood and Ben Cox each had two hits to pace Waterville (2-1) as well.

Nokomis dropped to 2-2.

MONMOUTH 13, MT. ABRAM 3, 5 innings: Alex Curtis had three hits, including a triple, to lead the Mustangs to an MVC win over the Roadrunners in Monmouth.

Kyle Fletcher and Brett Wilson each smacked doubles for Monmouth (3-0). Nick Sanborn picked up the win on the mound for the Mustangs.

Arthur Ryan had a double for Mt. Abram (0-1).

OCEANSIDE 7, ERSKINE 0: Nick Mazurek pitched a two-hitter and struck out nine to lead the Mariners to the KVAC Class B win in South China. Mazurek added two singles and pair of RBIs while teammate Zach Roman had a two-run single. Sophomore starter Luke Peabody pitched well for Erskine, striking out three and walking two through five innings. Oceanside is 4-0, Erskine is 1-2.

MT. BLUE 1, OXFORD HILLS 0: Chase Hiekkenen singled home Tye Nichols in the fourth inning and the Cougars held on to win the KVAC A game in Farmington. Colton Lawrence earned the victory for Mt. Blue (2-2), pitching a complete game while allowing just two hits.

Oxford Hills dropped to 2-1.

MORSE 10, MCI 5: Paul Dionne had two singles for the Huskies in a losing effort against the Shipbuilders in Pittsfield.

MCI falls to 0-4 on the season.

EDWARD LITTLE 4, LAWERENCE 0: Spencer Folsom smacked a double for the Bulldogs in a losing effort to the Red Eddies in Auburn.

Devon Raymond and Brandon Knapp each hit doubles for Edward Little (1-2).

Lawrence falls to 1-2.

BOYS LACROSSE

BRUNSWICK 10, MESSALONSKEE 8: The Eagles held a 5-3 lead at halftime, but could not hold on as Brunswick dealt Messalonskee its first loss of the season on Wednesday. The score was tied during the fourth quarter, but the Dragons netted two goals late to seize the win.

Jordan Holmes led the way for Messalonskee with three goals and an assist, Dan Condon had a pair of scores and Jake Smith finished with 13 saves in net. Ben Weeks, Ryan Erskine and Eric Van Der Karr also had goals for the Eagles.

Messalonskee fell to 2-1 with the loss, while Brunswick improved to 3-0

MT. BLUE 5, LINCOLN 4: Sam Taylor had two goals and Leo Flannery made 14 saves in net to give the Cougars a slim one-goal victory over Lincoln on Wednesday. Connor Rouillard and Tanner Bessey each finished with one goal and one assist, while Liam Welch netted one score for Mt. Blue. Alex Gilbert led the Cougars with nine ground balls.
