STAFF REPORT

WINSLOW — Winslow rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to pull out a 6-5 win over Morse in a Kennebec Valley Atheltic Conference Class B baseball game Monday.

The Raiders were down to their final strike when Trevor Lovely beat out an infield roller with the bases loaded to tie the game at 5-all. Alex Berard scored the winning run on a throwing error. Jake Trask picked up the pitching victory in relief of starter Dylan Hapworth. Lovely had a pair of hits for Winslow (4-1) while Liam McDonough had two for Morse (3-2).

NOKOMIS 2, ERSKINE 0: Zack Ramsdell held the Eagles to three hits in the KVAC Class B win for the Warriors in South China. Noah Kershner singled, doubled and drove in a run for Nokomis while Ramsdell drove in the other run. Ramsdell finished with four strikeouts and didn’t walk a batter while Ryan Rodrigue fanned 11 and walked two for Erskine and singled and doubled. Nokomis is 3-2, Erskine is 1-4.

MADISON 11, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 0, 5 innings: Chase Malloy gave up five hits and struck out four to earn the Mountain Valley Conference shutout in Madison.

Cody Soucier had two hits and drove in two runs for Madison (2-3). Malloy and Brock Campbell also drove in two runs for the Bulldogs.

Mountain Valley is now 0-6.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 10, CARREBEC 3: Brandon Stearns had three singles to help the Phoenix take the MVC win in North Anson.

Lucas Preble had two hits for Spruce Mountain (2-3). Boog Dunphy and Hunter Fernald each doubled for Carrabec (1-3).

LAWRENCE 11, SKOWHEGAN 10: Matt Champney had two singles and as many RBIs as the Bulldogs edged the Indians in a KVAC A game in Skowhegan.

Joe Leclair added two singles for Lawrence (3-2).

Evan Gerard also drove in two for Lawrence.

Nate Morris had a triple and two RBIs and Chase Nelson drove in a run to go along with two singles for Skowhegan (2-3).

MEDOMAK VALLEY 7, MT. VIEW 1: Micah Williamson had three hits and scored three runs to lead the Panthers to the KVAC B win in Waldoboro.

Ollie Brown had three hits and drove in three runs for Medomak Valley. Mikey Hustus drove in Mt. View’s run.

SOFTBALL

SKOWHEGAN 6, LAWRENCE 2: The Indians collected 14 hits on their way to the KVAC Class A in Skowhegan. Bonnie Jane Aiken led the winners with two doubles and a single while Eliza Bedard had two singles and a double and Andrea Qurion a double and single. Sarah Chase singled twice for Lawrence (2-3). Winning pitcher Kaitlyn Therriault struck out 12. Skowhegan is 4-1.

NOKOMIS 7, ERSKINE 1: Taylor Shaw had three hits and Natasha Howard bashed a two-run home run to lead the Warriors past the Eagles in a KVAC B game in South China.

Sierra Fortin, Sara Packard and Becky Orcutt each had doubles for Nokomis (5-0).

Mallory Chamberlain had two singles for Erskine (0-5).

MADISON 12, MTN. VALLEY 2: Four different players had two hits as the Bulldogs pulled away from the Falcons in Madison.

Aly LeBlanc, Cristie Vicneire, Kirsten Wood, and Madeline Wood each had two hits for Madison (5-0). LeBlanc and Vicneire each drove in a pair of runs. Winning pitcher Emily McKenney struck out nine and allowed three hits. After Mtn. Valley took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, McKenney allowed only one hit the rest of the way.

Shannon Lavbauskas singled and doubled for Mtn. Valley (4-2).

CARRABEC 13, SPRUCE MTN. 10: Brooklynne Lewis and Jess Vaillancourt each had three hits to lead the Cobras to the MVC win in North Anson. Lewis singled, doubled and tripled while Vaillancourt singled three times and picked up the pitching win. Baylee Atwood added a single and double for the winners while Kilee Nile drove in two runs. Carrabec is 3-1, Spruce Mountain is 3-2.

Mt. Blue 7, Mt. Ararat 3: The Cougars jumped out to a 4-0 lead after three innings and coasted to the KVAC A win in Topsham.

Kiana Thompson, Samantha Reynolds, and Lauren Guppy each had two hits for Mt. Blue (2-3). The Cougars, who had 13 hits overall, have already surpassed their win total from last spring.

For Mt. Ararat (0-5), Hannah Reis, Katelyn Cox, and Kim Leslie each finished with two hits.

WINSLOW 5, MORSE 2: Hannah Doble struck out nine and also singled twice as the Black Raiders held off the Shipbuilders in Winslow.

Hayley Pottle added a single and double for Winslow (3-2), while Paige Veilleux singled and drove home two runs.

For Morse (2-3), Jacelyn McNeill singled three times, and Hope Faulkingham chipped in with two hits.

GARDINER 21, WATERVILLE 0, 5 inn.: The Tigers scored eight runs in the second and 10 in the fifth for the KVAC Clas B win in Waterville. Bri Brochu led Gardiner’s 21-hit attack with two singles and two triples. Morgan Carver added a single, double and triple while Kristal Smith doubled twice and singled. Gardiner is 5-0, Waterville is 0-5.

GIRLS LACROSSE

MESSALONSKEE 18, EDWARD LITTLE 4: Sydney Gagne, Ally Fischang and Mikayla Turner scored three goals apiece to lead the Eagles to the Class A win in Auburn. Kristen Kern, Lucy Guarnieri, Emily Hogan and Nathalie St. PIerre scored two goals each for the winners while Abby Roberts added one. Fran Haines socred three goals for EL. Sydni Collier and Gaby Languet combined for three saves in goal for Messalonskee (1-1) while Rianna Rower made four for Edward Little (0-2).
