Two Oakland toddlers airlifted after assault

Two toddler girls from Oakland were airlifted to a hospital for treatment Sunday night after being assaulted, according to police.

Oakland Police Captain Rick Stubbert said Monday he could not release additional details of the assault, saying the case was still being investigated.

Someone living at an Oak Street residence dialed 911 at about 9 p.m. and said that another household member had attacked the girls, 2-year-old sisters.

Stubbert would not identify the alleged attacker. He said no charges have been filed.
