NEWPORT — Sara Packard struck out eight and allowed just three hits to lead the Nokomis softball team to a 2-0 victory over Camden Hills in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B game Tuesday afternoon. Becky Orcutt delivered a home run for the Warriors (8-0) in a two-run fourth inning. Courtney Carlson had two hits for Nokomis as well.

Camden dropped to 4-4.

FORREST HILLS 13, VALLEY 12 (9 INNINGS): Madison Cuddy singled to score Anna Carrier from third in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Tigers a dramatic, walk-off over the Cavaliers. Forest Hills plated three runs in the bottom of the seventh to give itself a chance to win it in extra innings.

Cuddy fell a home run short of the cycle and also had three RBIs for the Tigers (5-4), Carrier added two doubles and a triple and Caitlin Longston finished with a double and a single.

Teagan Laweryson and Dalayne Davis each had two doubles and a single for Valley (0-4), while Kyla White notched two singles and a double. Hallie Miller, Dalayne Davis and Kirsten Mathieu chipped in with two hits apiece for the Cavs.

MTN. VALLEY 9, CARRABEC 4: The Cobras struck first with three runs in the top of the first inning, but couldn’t hold on in a loss to the Falcons.

Courtney Lancaster led the way for Carrabec (4-4) with three singles, while Paige Chadbourne and Mickayla Willette each finished with a pair of singles. Shannon Laubauskis had a home run for Mountain Valley, who improved to 6-3 with the win.

BASEBALL

VALLEY 15, FOREST HILLS 3 (5 INNINGS): Valley (4-1) took advantage of seven Tiger errors to score a five-inning victory over Forest Hills (2-5). Matt Turner had two hits — including a home run — for Forest Hills, while Aaron Moffett finished with a single and a double. Cody Lawyerson and Dylan Belanger had two hits apeice for Valley.

CARRABEC 10, MTN. VALLEY 2: The Cobras plated seven runs through the first three innings en route to evening their record on the season at 4-4.

Boog Dunphy, Hunter Fernald and Dustin Crawford each had doubles for Carrabec in the win, while Levi Murray allowed just four hits to pick up the win on the mound. Mountain Valley (1-7) committed six errors in the loss.

HAMPDEN 6, LAWRENCE 3: After falling behind 6-0 through the first five innings the Bulldogs managed to cut the deficit in half, but could not complete the comeback against the Broncos on Monday night.

Cole Robinson and Cody Martin each had a pair of singles for Lawrence (3-4), while Hampden (4-4) was led by Matt Martin and Billy Campbell. Each player finished with two singles and two RBIs.

BOYS LACROSSE

CONY 13, Mt. BLUE 1: Daniel Erbe scored four goals and Austin Davis added three to lead the Rams to the KVAC A victory in Farmington.

Bronson Kieltyka added four goals and an assist for the Rams (3-3) as well.

Conner Rouillard scored the long goal for the Cougars (1-4).

GIRLS LACROSSE

MESSALONSKEE 12, LEWISTON 9: Ally Fischang scored six goals and Kristen Kern added three to lead the Eagles to the KVAC A win in Lewiston.

India Languet, Sydney Gagne and Nathalie St. Pierre each scored a goal and an assist for Messalonskee (3-1).

Sierra Thistoewaite scored four goals to lead Lewiston (3-2).
