OAKLAND — Kylee Knight led the game off with a home run, went 4 for 4, stole three bases, and scored all three of her team’s runs as Messalonskee outlasted Bangor, 3-2, in eight innings in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A softball action Wednesday afternoon.

Both Bangor pitcher Skyler Cassum and Messalonskee hurler Kassi Michaud allowed seven hits. Cordelia Stewart had a triple and a single for Bangor (6-3).

Kristy Prelgovisk added two hits, including the game-winner, for Messalonskee (5-3). In the bottom of the eighth, Knight led off with a single and stole second. With two down, Prelgovisk drilled a shot off the right field fence and Knight scored easily to end the game.

MADISON 13, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 0, 5 innings: Emily McKenney tossed a no-hitter, striking out five, to lead the Bulldogs to the Mountain Valley Conference win in Madison.

McKenney helped herself out with two singles and three RBIs for Madison (9-0). Madeline Wood added a triple and a double, Aly LeBlanc had a double and a single and Kirsten Wood and Kayla Bess each had two singles.

Spruce Moutain falls to 4-4.

OXFORD HILLS 1, SKOWHEGAN 0: Kaitlyn Therriault struck out 12 and gave up just three hits but was still saddled with the loss for the Indians. The Vikings scored the winning run on a passed ball after a lead-off, infield single in the top of the fourth. Oxford Hills improves to 6-2, while Skowhegan falls to 6-3.

CONY 7, MT. BLUE 1: Skyler Watson pitched a four-hitter to lead the Rams to the KVAC A win in Farmington.

Watson struck out six in the win. Olivia Deeves had a double and a single for Cony (8-1) while Arika Brochu added two singles. Cassidy Turgeon also doubled.

Mt. Blue falls to 4-5.

WINSLOW 7, ERSKINE 2: Hillary Libby pitched a one-hitter and struck out eight to lead the Black Raiders to the KVAC B win in South China. Elizabeth Pullen doubled for Winslow (7-2). Pitchers Mackenzie Sawyer and Mallory Chamberlain combined for eight strikeouts for Erskine (2-7).

DIRIGO 9, MT. ABRAM 4: The Cougars collected six hits and took advantage of five errors by the Roadrunners to post the MVC win in Dixfield. Bryce Parent singled and doubled for the winners while teammate Kenzie Lord doubled and drove in two runs. Katelyn Olsen struck out 10 for the pitching win. Dirigo is 4-3, Mt. Abram is 2-7.

NOKOMIS 12, MARANACOOK 0, 5 innings: Becky Orcutt allowed just fourt hits while striking out seven to pace the the Warriors past the Black Bears in five innings.

Mikayla Charters led Nokomis with two singles and a double and Drew Graves chipped in with a pair of singles.
