BELFAST — Sara Packard threw a three-hit shutout as the Nokomis softball team blanked Belfast 10-0 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B game Saturday afternoon.

Packard struck out nine as Nokomis improved to 14-0. The Warriors host Gardiner (15-0) on Monday afternoon.

Mikayla Charters hit a two-run double in the third inning for Nokomis and also singled in the game. Packard added a two-run single as part of a five-run fifth inning for the Warriors.

Casey Thayer singled twice for Belfast (5-10).

MT. BLUE 6, BRUNSWICK 4: The Cougars had five extra-base hits among their 10 as they prevailed in Brunswick.

Maranda Currier had three hits, including a double and a triple, for Mt. Blue (6-9). Kiana Thompson added two hits and two stolen bases. Lauren Guppy and Addie Brinkman chipped in with two hits apiece.

Brunswick is 0-14.

GARDINER 3, WINSLOW 0: Kristal Smith hit a solo home run in the fifth inning to help her own cause on the mound as Gardiner edged Winslow.

Smith pitched the complete game, striking out 12 and walking just one. She allowed just four hits.

The Tigers (15-0) plated two more runs in the sixth inning.

Winslow dropped to 8-4.

BASEBALL

WINSLOW 6, GARDINER 1: Dylan Hapworth, Trevor Lovely and Jake Trask combined on a three-hitter as the Black Raiders won in Gardiner.

Ben Smith singled and doubled for Winslow (11-3). Taylor Roy also had two hits, while Lovely bopped an RBI triple and Alex Berard added a two-run double.

For Gardiner (2-13), Josh Mashke doubled, and Ryan Kelley and Brady Smith each had a single.

ERSKINE 7, MARANACOOK 1: The Eagles used a four-run second inning to secure the win in Readfield.

Zach Isbell singled three times for Erskine (7-8). Andrew Browne, Ryan Rodrigue and Tyler Bailey added two hits apiece. Jared Gartley went six innings and Nate Howard went one to combine on a three-hitter.

Cam Brochu homered for Maranacook (5-10).
