AUGUSTA — Gail Judd, found not criminally responsible for the stabbing death of her boyfriend two years ago in Bangor and sent to Riverview Psychiatric Center, died May 14, according to a letter from the hospital to Kennebec County Superior Court.

In March, a judge approved a community placement for Judd, 55, and she was to move from Riverview to a locked ward at Mount St. Joseph Residence and Rehabilitation in Waterville. She had been found not criminally responsible for the February 2012 stabbing death of 47-year-old Michael Drouin.

Judd had been in poor health for years, used a wheelchair, and was on supplemental oxygen, requiring round-the-clock monitoring.

Judd died at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta.
