This is an addendum to my RSU 38 comment of May 17. It appears that the budget warrants that got approved on May 14 do show figures different than I had read prior to my letter.

That being said, taxpayers in the RSU 38 area should by all means get up to speed on this and how it affects them. Their vote is important on June 10 and they should vote the way that works for each of them individually.

Each of us has to decide what we can handle financially and vote accordingly. Knowing that, on average, taxpayers took a $600 hit in last year’s taxes and are struggling to buy food, heat and medical needs. This makes our votes very important in these times.

I still encourage all taxpayers to come to the superintendent with any specific questions. The more people hear, the more they know.
