Gen. James Campbell, when all is said and done and he is no longer the adjutant general of this great state, he will be added to the list of adjutant generals. One list, however, that he will not be added to is the list of fine leaders.

Generals like Ed Heywood, Nelson Durgin and Earl Adams come to mind. These men worked with the guardsmen and women of Maine. They were leaders and so had the cooperation and enthusiasm of the Army and Air National Guard members of Maine. He probably doesn’t know who these men were and are, but he just might want to look into their leadership style and take a few lessons.
