I read about an elementary school in SAD 54 that did not make the grade. It was sad to read that the state assigned an F grade to a school that was not supposed to be graded because a grade level had been moved to another school in the district.

This article, however, made front page of the local news in the Morning Sentinel.

The article also should have told the good side of an elementary school in the same district. Canaan Elementary School, which is also part of SAD 54, got an A for a grade. I did not see that mentioned in the paper on any front page.

Good news about public schools is often overlooked. I would think that the Sentinel would have been all over the Canaan School to find out what makes an A school and publish it for others to read about.

Congratulations to students, teachers, parents and staff of the Canaan School. They deserve to be applauded.
