This letter is about food stamps and credit cards.

I was a reservist for FEMA for 12 years. While working as a reservist, I was issued a government credit card, and what I could purchase on it was limited. I was told that I could use the card for transportation, rental cars, fuel for the automobile and for food. There may be other things I could use it for, but I have forgotten.

I saw some individuals trying to get a cash advance from ATM machines or to buy items at department stores. The card was so designed so that we could get the necessary things we needed to do our jobs and would work only at a proper place such as a restaurant, fuel purchase and overnight lodging.

I believe that the food stamp business could have cards that could be used only for things that the person who is holding the card needs to use them for. They could be sent out so that they could not purchase a liquid refreshment, a cash advance, fuel for automobiles or smoking materials.

There are untold possibilities that the cards could be designated to be used for.
