Maine Memory Network programs planned

PORTLAND — Maine Historical Society, in partnership with Maine State Library, will present a series of 90-minute public programs about Maine Memory Network, MHS’s statewide digital museum, at libraries and historical societies throughout Maine this summer.

Candace Kanes, curator and historian of Maine Memory Network, will provide an overview of the online museum’s content and search tools, as well as highlighting historical collections and stories on the site related to the host community.

Kanes will also discuss how individuals can engage with the website and how organizations can get involved. A representative from a local Maine Memory Contributing Partner will be on hand at each program to discuss his or her organization’s experience with Maine Memory. Attendees may wish to bring a laptop or tablet to explore the website during and after the presentation.

The programs are free and open to the public. No advance registration is necessary. The program host sites are as follows:

• Monday, June 30, 7 p.m., Pembroke Historical Society Museum, Union Square, Old County Road, Pembroke.
