A Corinna business pleaded guilty Monday to illegally selling merchandise with trademarked logos and images on them of copyright owners, such as the Boston Red Sox, Playboy and John Deere.

Robert Berg Enterprises, which also does business as Berg Sportswear, entered the plea in U.S. District Court in Bangor to charges of trafficking in counterfeit goods.

The company faces fines of up to $5 million, according to a release from U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II.

According to court records, between January 2006 and January 2011, employees screen printed merchandise with the trademarks of the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, New England Patriots, New York Yankees, Harley Davidson, John Deere, Jack Daniels, Orange County Choppers and Playboy.

The owner of the business, Robert Berg, pleaded guilty Jan. 7 to being an accessory after the fact to the manufacture of 1,000 or more marijuana plants in Washington County.

The company will be sentenced in the trademark case after a presentence report is prepared.
