In the June 17 edition of the newspaper, a political cartoon depicted the daily gun deaths in the United States, which, according to statistics, is 87.
This letter is not meant to minimize the terrible tragedy of those who have been hurt or died as a result of a gun. (Although I believe that if guns were outlawed, only the outlaws would have guns).
However, if the cartoonist is really concerned about the murder of innocents, perhaps he should draw a hearse representing the number of abortions performed daily in this country. Each drawing would have to be microscopic, though, and every window would be covered with drawings because the total is 3,288 abortions per day — that’s 1 every 26 seconds!
And some dare to call it “women’s health care.”
