BALTIMORE – The first ball Babe Ruth hit over the fence in Yankee Stadium and his 1918 contract with the Boston Red Sox are among about three dozen Ruth-related items scheduled for auction in Baltimore.

The auction Saturday night at the Sports Legends Museum will mark the 100th anniversary of Ruth’s major league debut. He played his first game on July 11, 1914. Ruth was born in Baltimore.

The items will be on display for the public ahead of the auction. Other memorabilia to be sold includes Super Bowl rings from the 1970 Baltimore Colts and the 2000 Baltimore Ravens.

Goldin Auctions estimates that the 125 items to be auctioned off could fetch as much as $10 million. Ruth’s contract is already up to $370,000 in online bidding.
