AUGUSTA — Maine first lady Ann LePage will skydive alongside quadruple amputee and veteran, Travis Mills, to help raise money for those who have served in the military.
LePage and Mills said that it will take place Aug. 9 during the Freedom Fest, a concert in Fort Kent to raise money for the Northern Maine Veterans Museum and Community Center.
Mills, a retired Army Staff Sgt. who was injured by an improvised explosive device during this third tour to Afghanistan in 2012, said the two of them will skydive alongside an all-veteran parachute team.
LePage said she’s nervous because she’s afraid of heights, but said that she’s committed to military and veterans initiatives. She said Gov. Paul LePage will be waiting on the ground for her after the jump.
