DURHAM — A Durham woman has died in a single car crash in town.
Police say 20-year-old Jessica Abbott was driving north on Stackpole Road at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday when she lost control of her SUV, veered off the road and struck the trees.
Police say Abbott was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in the vehicle.
The crash remains under investigation but police say it appears Abbott was not wearing a seat belt and investigators do not think she was intoxicated.
