Those poor unfortunate passengers of that Malaysian airliner shot down over the Ukraine have become pawns in a huge global blame game.
Barack Obama says the Russians did it. The Russians say the Ukrainian government did it. The Ukrainian government say the separatists did it, and the separatists say, “Who? Us?”
For all anyone really knows, the Israelis might have done it to draw attention away from their full-blown military invasion of Gaza. The invasion did occur only hours after the airplane was downed.
I am 100 percent certain of one thing only: Somebody’s military shot down that airliner. It was not a street gang with an Uzi or some deranged hunter with a 30-06. Only a well-funded and a highly organized military has the means to commit such a crime.
Perhaps it’s time we recognized the military — all militaries — for what they really are: enemies of all human beings. Their only function on this Earth is to kill people and blow up things. The sooner we learn that, the better off we will all be.
