NORRIDGEWOCK — A Dunkin’ Donuts franchise — the town’s first — is expected to open on Hotel Street pending approval of the Planning Board.

The board is scheduled to make a decision on the application, submitted by Ed and Colleen Bailey, after a 30 day period in which they will collect public comments on the proposal, according to Planning Board Chairman Scott Campbell.

The location of the coffee and doughnut shop would be on Hotel Street at the intersection of state Route 139.

Members of the public and abutters have until Sept. 11 to submit written comments to the planning board concerning the proposal.

“If it is approved, I expect they would want to get going on it within a month or two, but I have no idea how long it would take before it would open,” said Campbell. “Most people are happy about it that I’ve talked to.”

The Baileys also operate a Dunkin’ Donuts franchise on Main Street in Madison, Campbell said. They could not be reached for comment.
