The Public Utilities Commission ruling on Central Maine Power’s rate proposal has been finalized. The unfair rate increase was reduced by $17 million, and, although rates still will increase, it will be by a less painful amount.
I would like to thank everyone who raised their voices about this important issue that affects not only seniors, but also young families trying to get by.
I also would like to thank the dedicated staff at AARP-Maine, without whose efforts on our behalf the outcome would have been much worse.
Keeping our Social Security strong will be one of the next big issues we will have to deal with, and our AARP-Maine is there to help with this issue. By adding our voices we can help be the changes we would like to see.
