Police have asked for help identifying three men in a car who forced a woman off the road and assaulted her Aug. 13 in Cornville.

The attack, which was not sexual, resulted in the 41-year-old victim from St. Albans seeking medical attention, according to Dale Lancaster, chief deputy of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department.

Lancaster said the assault happened between 7:30 a.m. and noon on East Ridge Road between Bowman and Moody Town roads.

“We need help in identifying who was involved,” he said Tuesday. “The reason we’re asking for help is we don’t know what the perpetrator’s vehicle was. We’re not releasing what her vehicle is for her own protection.”

Neither vehicle was damaged. Lancaster said police have some information on a possible motive in the attack, but he would not elaborate. The attackers did not use a weapon in the assault, he said.

The woman suffered bumps and bruises and was treated and released at Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield.
