WINTHROP — Tabitha’s Closet, the free clothing ministry of the Winthrop United Methodist Church, is celebrating its first anniversary at its permanent location at 72 Main St.

Tabitha’s Closet provides clothing for men, women and children of all ages. It is staffed entirely by volunteers and relies on donations from church and community members.

Donation guidelines include: only new or gently-worn, clean clothing can be accepted and well-worn, stained, dirty or damaged items will be declined; items must be brought in bags no larger than a white, kitchen-size trash bags, as larger bags are bulky and hard for volunteers to lift. Donations of household or decorative items are not accepted.

The closet is open from 9 a.m. to noon on the second and fourth Saturday of every month. For more information, call 377-8620.
