READFIELD — Maranacook Adult Education will offer a CDL Class B: Dump Truck or Bus class to prepare students to meet the Maine Department of Motor Vehicle requirements for licensing and learn hands-on skills training.
The course will consist of 42 hours in the classroom, including a written and skills exam, and 30 hours of one-on-one instruction on the range and road to prepare for the road test. Nancy Frost will be the instructor. Classes will be held 6-9 p.m. Tuesdays and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays, beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the Professional Development Center, 75 North Road. An informational night will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Maranacook Community High School.
Costs include an $800 registration fee; a $35 permit fee; and bus, tank and hazmat endorsements, $10 each. For the bus driving endorsement, drivers must be older than 21, have a clean driving record and get a physical exam.
