The Maine Region of Guiding Eyes for the Blind seeks people in the greater Portland and Augusta areas to raise puppies into their homes for 14-16 months, teach basic skills and socialize with them. Puppy raisers receive ongoing local support and free veterinary care.
An open house is set for 6-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at the Iris Network, 189 Park Ave. in Portland.
