Why would we re-elect a governor who refuses to see that millions of our tax dollars are going to Medicaid expansion in other states, while Maine citizens go without? With the feds picking up the tab for the first three years, and 90 percent thereafter, it seems like a no-brainer to me.

While a number of Republican governors in other states have changed course on this, our governor is holding out, entrenched in his ideology. He says we can’t afford it. The truth is, we can’t afford not to.

Come election time, I hope he’ll discover that Maine voters can connect the dots. We can be smart about who we elect for governor.
