Sen. Chris Johnson, D-Somerville, is a strong supporter of quality education, and he has my vote. I have been a teacher and administrator, and I am impressed with Chris’s voting record .

He has been a leader in getting the state to help communities provide pre-K programs, which research supports as a key factor in school success. Many communities don’t have the means to make this worthwhile investment by themselves.

Chris believes that teachers are professional enough to be an integral part in the teacher evaluation system. Others think this must be a top-down system, which, as most people are aware, does not improve the profession.

When students work hard to get ahead by getting a post-high school education, Chris is working to make sure that they don’t get crippled by debt.

I urge others in District 13 to join me in casting their vote for Chris on Nov. 4.
