Once again, I see Eliot Cutler being called a spoiler as incumbent Gov. Paul LePage gets elected. Perhaps the real reason most independents don’t get elected is we have only one independent running. Perhaps if we had more independents running, they could even be included in the primaries, which I think is a big farce because most voters wait for the big day.
Why not eliminate the primaries, saving taxpayers money, and list everybody running on one ballot come Election Day? That would be fairer, and everybody would get to run regardless of party. What’s wrong with everybody who started running being able to seek voters and not be eliminated via that stupid primary voting farce.
How many of you reading this may have at some time said, “Gee, I sure wish my favorite had won the primary instead of being tossed out?”
