FREEPORT — New York Yankees retiring captain Derek Jeter is getting a gift from L.L. Bean and the Boston Red Sox.
L.L. Bean has produced a special pair of boots for the “captain” sporting a Yankees logo and colors. They’re even lined with pinstripes. An L.L. Bean spokeswoman says the tongue of the boot has the years in which he and the Yankees won the World Series.
Like all Bean boots, they were hand-stitched in Brunswick.
The boots are expected to be presented by the Red Sox organization to Jeter this weekend when the Yankees close out their season at Fenway Park.
