WATERVILLE — The Maine Manufacturing Extension Partnership has postponed its Manufacturer of the Year award ceremony at Huhtamaki in Waterville. The award ceremony was scheduled for Friday, and will be rescheduled for a later time.

Maine Commissioner of Economic and Community Development George Gervais was scheduled to present the award. Because of the unexpected announcement by Verso Paper of the closure of its Bucksport mill, the commissioner had to change his schedule and will be unable to attend the event, according to a news release.
