HALLOWELL —Spectrum Generations Cohen Community Center recenly announced October events. The center will be closed Monday, Oct. 13, for Columbus Day. All event will take place at the Center.

• Gentle Yoga Classes for those 50 and older to improve flexibility and breathing, decrease stress, and maintain health with certified yoga instructor Nancy Valley. The class is set for 9-10 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Cost is $10 for one class or $15 if you attend both classes weekly. Preregistration preferred, walk-ins welcome. Your first class is free if you have not taken the yoga class with Valleyin the past.

• Public Flu Shot Clinic will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oct. 7, with Maxim Health Systems. Medicare Part B and most insurances are accepted as well as cash and checks. No appointment required. Walk-ins welcome.

• “Remember Me” Readings will be offered 1-4 p.m. the second and fourth Friday of each month. Medium Francine McEwen uses her clairvoyant abilities to connect with loved ones who have passed to Spirit. Readings are 1/2 hour each and the cost is $25. • Floral Design Class with Amber from Shaw’s Supermarket Floral Department is set for 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21. Bring your own basket and learn how to arrange it with freshly cut flowers. • Cellphones and Electronics 101 will begin at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21. The workshop with Ryan Carver, Tanya Fitcher and Ben Gil will feature basic and smartphones, tablets, “hotspots” and more. Cost is $5 per person and preregistration is preferred. Bring an electronic gadget if you can.
