LINCOLN — Silent Sidekicks, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, will hold its Second annual Sidekick Stroll at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11. This 1-mile-dog walk benefits Silent Sidekicks’ animal assisted therapy and activities programs, and is the nonprofit organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. in the back parking lot of The Golden Key Senior Center at 51 Main St. Registration is $5 per person, $10 per family, and free for dogs. A special awards contest for the dog participants is planned. Awards will be given to the youngest, oldest, largest, and smallest dogs, as well as the dog with the best smile.
Pledge forms are available for all walkers, and the walker who receives the most pledges will win a special prize. Pledge forms may be obtained online, by e-mailing info@silentsidekicks.org, or in person from any volunteer. Human participants will also receive a “Doggy Bag” full of healthy snacks to take home.
