LIBERTY — Families can celebrate fall Saturday, Oct. 11, with a StoryWalk presented by Sheepscot Wellspring Land Alliance. The walk will take place on the 1-mile Haystack Mountain Trail. Audrey O’Clair will reveal the “beautifully” illustrated children’s book, “The Woodcutter and the Most Beautiful Tree” through 17 “elegant” wooden sign posts crafted by Jim Macdonald, according to a release. To participate, meet at 10 a.m. at the Haystack Mountain trailhead behind the Walker Memorial Ball Field. In event of rain, this event will not be rescheduled. For more information, contact Audrey O’Clair at audrey.oclair@gmail.com.

StoryWalk features popular children’s books mounted along public access trails. This story about an unlikely friendship between a woodcutter and a tree will remain up through November. Those who participate also will see peak fall color from the mountain top as part of the Cultivate! Belfast Area Farm and Arts Trail.

This event was made possible with generous funding from Regional School Unit 3.

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vt., and developed in collaboration with the VT Bicycle Coalition and the Kellogg Hubbard Library.
