The National Weather Service issued a flood warning Thursday evening for southwestern Kennebec County, including Monmouth and Winthrop, and most of Androscoggin County, including Lewiston and Auburn.

The warning was posted on the agency’s website at 8:24 p.m.

The agency also posted a flood watch for the rest of central Maine and for southern and western Maine, as well as most of New Hampshire.
