Roger Katz and I served together on the Augusta City Council and later I worked with him in his senatorial role. Roger has consistently demonstrated his willingness to work collaboratively to the benefit of those we mutually serve.

The bottom line for Roger is always what is best for the people, all the people. That is evident in his work at the Senate. He has offered several bills in the legislature that have been successful, such as expansion of dental care in rural areas, protection of privacy for cell phone and computer records from government snooping and as lead negotiator for a sensible welfare reform package adopted by the Legislature.

As chairman of the Government Oversight Committee he helped clean up the mess at the Maine Turnpike Authority. I expect this energy will continue. I look forward to our work together next year. Re-elect Roger Katz to the Senate.
