Sen. Colleen Lachowicz, D-Waterville, listens to people’s real life situations and takes them into account to help others in any way she can, such as with my son Brodyn. She listened to why I believed all newborns should have screenings for congenital heart defects. My son didn’t have a screening and was sent home with a life-threatening heart defect, went into failure at home, and came close to not making it. She helped the bill pass that will make sure all newborns have a simple test done to help save other babies that are undetected at birth in the hopes we will lower Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) by detecting heart defects before they become lethal.
Colleen Lachowicz will be getting my vote for Senate District 16 on Election Day.
