CHICAGO — Jonathan Toews and Brent Seabrook scored, Scott Darling made 32 saves in his NHL debut, and the Chicago Blackhawks snapped a two-game losing streak with a 2-1 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Sunday night.

Patrick Kane assisted on Toews’ goal for his 500th NHL point.

Milan Michalek scored a short-handed goal for the Senators.

The game featured a matchup of goalies from the Chicago area.

Darling, a native of Lemont, Illinois, was steady as he faced a handful of tough chances. Ottawa’s Craig Anderson, from Park Ridge, Illinois, stopped 43 shots, including a second-period penalty shot by Andrew Shaw.

Darling played for the University of Maine from 2008-10. He was dismissed from the team in June 2010.

JETS 2, Avalanche 1: Bryan Little scored at 4:35 of overtime, lifting Winnipeg to a victory over Colorado in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Little redirected Andrew Ladd’s backhander past Semyon Varlamov for his fifth goal of the season.

Ladd also had the game’s first goal, and Ondrej Pavelec finished with 22 saves.

Jamie McGinn scored for Colorado, and Varlamov had 26 stops.

Both teams had power-play chances late in regulation.

With 3:32 to go, Jets forward Mathieu Perreault was called for holding, giving the Avalanche their fourth power play.

Winnipeg killed that penalty, then went on its third power play after forward John Mitchell was called for tripping with 1:18 remaining. The Jets had a shot blocked and another stopped by Varlamov. Pavelec then stopped a one-timer by defenseman Tyson Barrie.

Winnipeg spent a lot of time in Colorado’s end at the start of the game and it paid off when Ladd stood in front of the net and redirected Zach Bogosian’s shot from the point through Varlamov’s legs at 6:25.

KINGS 5, BLUE JACKETS 2: Jeff Carter scored during a two-man advantage in Los Angeles’ three-goal second period, and the Kings completed a sweep of their six-game homestand with a victory over Columbus.

Columbus left wing Nick Foligno was injured with 11:34 left in the third period and taken off on a stretcher with a brace on his neck. Carter checked him along the boards in front of the Kings’ bench, and Foligno’s head rammed into the elbow of linesman Shane Heyer, who had jumped on top of the dasher in an attempt to avoid both players.

A Blue Jackets spokesman said Foligno has a stiff neck but is expected to be OK.

Sharks 4, Ducks 1: Joe Pavelski and Tommy Wingels scored power-play goals, and San Jose emphatically snapped a four-game losing streak with a fight-filled victory over Anaheim.

Brent Burns and Marc-Edouard Vlasic also scored for the Sharks, who ended Anaheim’s seven-game winning streak.
